These images represented a sequence of events in my mind, Strike, Retreat, Glory.

Strike: Aggressive and Dissonant opposing rhythmic patterns between the Harp and the Cello. Fading war drums with upper strings highlighting the tension and discomfort while oboe performing contra-melodic solo. Ultimately creating tension and action.

Peace: Light piano with plenty open reverb with distant angelic choir presenting peace, as if the everything came back to normal.

Glory: Last sequence of the music Glory starts with Harp, Oboe, and Cello, mirroring the beginning of the composition, except this time working in harmony and creates a beautiful melodic lines. Later, low brass joins with rumbling drums signalling the arrival of glory. Upper strings, clarinet counter melody and reaches the climax of the composition.

These three images were taken on the same day at Reynisfjara, Black Sand Beach in Iceland. The weather, hue, and climate reminded me of the medieval era and the mundane lifestyle and the differences between “the north” and the rest of the world.

As a result, by using D Aeolian Scale to create the medival taste and the grandeur feel that is brought into the composition.

All instruments are taken from Alchemy or Kontakt samples.
